My favorite part about Queer UP is having a team that is in your corner, that has got your back, and that is rooting for your success. They’re a team that understands you in a way that other people might not get. It’s being part of a community where you don’t have to explain or defend your own identity, you’re just accepted the way you are; that’s really empowering.

As a queer, gender-non conforming actor, I found it hard to believe that there would be any roles out there for me to play. But with the help of the hardworking reps at Queer UP, I was blown away with how many opportunities there are for people who express themselves as I do. To have representation that genuinely cares about making sure I am seen and celebrated for my intrinsic authenticity, is something that every queer person should be afforded in this industry.
